Ibrahim Albuainain is a Qatari writer, art director, and filmmaker whose passion for art began in childhood, driven by a curiosity to understand the magic behind cartoon animation and stop-motion. Over the years, he dedicated extensive research and hands on experimentation to creating animatable puppets and handcrafted worlds. He is best known for his stop-motion film The Last Drop of Oil (2012), which screened at several international festivals, including the Family Film Festival in Hollywood, and won an award at the Ras Al Khaimah Film Festival. Ibrahim is a grantee of the Doha Film Institute for both his 3D animated film Smile You Deserve It and his stop-motion animated film Civilization of Equality, the latter screened in more than 15 film festivals around the world, including at the Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film.

The Last Drop of Oil (2012)

One of the intruders, who had secretly hidden a reserve of oil before the world's supply was exhausted, set out in search of a barrel he had buried years earlier. After recalling its location, he traveled to a deserted oil well, hoping to recover the last remaining traces of oil and secure his survival in a world where the resource had all but vanished.
